All Stratabands are seamless unlike traditional patterned metal bands.
Stratabands patterns are a through-grain, not stamped or printed on the surface.
The Stratabands process allows us to create unique patterns that can not be made by any other means.
Our proprietary process allows stratabands to utilize metals in patterned bands that have never been used before.
Our process allows us to bond exotic metals such as titanium, zirconium and tantalum with conventional jewelry metals, something no other designer or manufacturer can do.
Stratabands pattern styles are consistent between rings, but each
band has its own unique version of that pattern.
Stainless Steel strataband rings use two different stainless steel alloys 304 and 316 stainless. Both alloys are hypoallergenic.
The metals used in the stratabands Stainless Steel and Titanium-
Zirconium rings are much harder and more durable than conventional jewelry metals.
Both Titanium and Zirconium are very light weight, less than half the weight of silver and 1/3 the weight of gold.
Both Titanium and Zirconium are hypoallergenic and routinely used for medical devices because of their excellent biocompatability.
The black Zirconium ceramic oxide that we put on our Titanium
Zirconium rings has some unique qualities. The ceramic oxide is developed using a process developed for creating hard, durable, and flexible biocompatible finishes for replacement joints. The surface of the metal is slowly transformed into a stable ceramic material that will not flake, chip or peel. This ceramic actually grows down into the matrix of the metal, which accounts for its excellent adherence. The black Zirconium ceramic oxide in stratabands is harder and more durable than any other conventional blackening treatment used for jewelry, including, enamels, polymers, paints, plating, and oxidation. The coating is very resilient and will outlast all others.
Because many stratabands rings do not contain precious metals like platinum or gold, budget minded customers can get a top quality, cutting edge designer ring for much less than conventional mokume or Damascus steel.
